PERENNIAL STREAM, CROPS AND TIMBER, ANOTHER GREAT PROPERTY LOCATED NEAR WICHITA!
Another great farm in the Wichita area. As we said before, the Hunting Lease Network™ offers a full-service, professionally managed leasing program that is designed to make sure you spend your time hunting, not looking for land. And, we are keeping that promise!
This latest addition to the Hunting Lease Network family of properties is centrally located near Wichita, Newton, Hutch and McPherson. With more than one mile of perennial stream, mature woodland and crop production, this farm can proffer a sporting good time year-around!
The west side of your farm is dominated by the stream and mature trees. This area provides lowland cover to shelter deer during the harshest conditions. This wooded area has a good mix of monolayered and multilayered species providing for good diversity of habitat. During my visit I noted two active scrape lines along the east side of the stream. One parallels the browse line near the field edge and the other follows an established trail near the stream. As evidenced by the third photo in the property description, deer are using the stream as a principal travel route.
This irrigated farm has an interesting mix of crops. Milo, corn, soybeans and winter wheat are all cultivated on this property. Couple of quick points about the crop fields. The milo and corn are packed with important nutrients that can be utilized by migratory birds, deer and other species. And, because wheat remains “green” throughout most of the winter, it can be an important food source for wildlife when native vegetation is dormant. Remember, deer obtain about 60% of their water intake from plants consumed. Yes, this crop diversity is somewhat unique providing a nutritional smorgasbord for the local wildlife population.
Tip: Don’t overlook the wood patch on the east side of the wheat field. Its “hidden in plain sight” quality makes it a honey hole worth noting.
Regarding the waterfowl hunting, I must say I envy those of you that live in this area. This part of the state seems to be a magnet for Canada geese. To use the common lexicon, there are tons of geese in the Wichita area! Thus, another farm that may give you the chance to melt your barrel at 1550 feet per second!
This lease includes 317 acres near your home for 12 months to hunt all legal species. Plus we always provide $1 million in hunting liability insurance with every lease. Outfitters/guides must provide their own additional insurance.
